Steps
1. Establish Contact
“(Artillery Callsign), this is (Your Callsign)”
2. Request Mission Type
“Requesting ___ mission”

|---|---|
| Spot | Fire one round, then adjust / FFE |
| Fire for Effect | Firing in quick succession at a target |
| Adjust Fire [DISTANCE, DIR] | Same target, slight movement of fire |
| Immediate Suppression | Firing at unspecific target [Gridsquare] |
3. Specify Guns and Rounds
“(Number) guns, (number) times (type of round), dispersion (?)”
- Max of 8 rounds per mission
- Rounds available: HE, Flare, Smoke
4. Target Location
“At target location, GRID BREAK, (xxx, xxx), [Keypad], Elevation [x]”
If grid is not available, a rough location can be used:
“At target location, North West of OBJ DOG”
5. Describe Target
“Target is (number) times ___”
Vehicle, Infantry, Building, Roadblock, etc.
If target location is within 600m of friendly positions, add: “Warning — DANGER CLOSE. Friendlies at [Location].”
6. Method of Fire Control
- “Fire when ready”
- “Fire on my command”
